Basic Theory of Chinese MedicineThis course will teach the basic concepts of yin and yang, five elements, syndrome differentiation, four diagnoses, organs, meridians and traditional Chinese medicine. The aim of the course is to teach students to understand ethical, moral and caring attitudes in order to gain a better understanding of the etiology of the cases, the types of syndromes they belong to and the types of treatment they should be applied. The course focuses on the use of four diagnostic assessment and dialectical skills to confirm the etiology and pathogenesis of the diseases under a safe and protective environment. It will achieve the purpose of medical treatment and preventive health care.
Nursing Care in Chinese MedicineThis course will teach the development and the current status of TCM nursing. From the basic concepts of Chinese medicine, including yin and yang, five elements, organs and so on, and by applying TCM nursing assessment techniques to understand the physical conditions of the individual cases and provide the nursing strategy with traditional Chinese medicine and diet taboo based on the results of dialectics. This process will use the correct Chinese medicine-related skills and a variety of alternative therapies. This course focuses on correctly using the dialectical skills, care attitude and meticulous careful thought to establish the care measures in the safe and protective environment. So that the symptoms can get controlled and the patient can return to health as soon as possible to achieve the purposes of treatment and prevention of health care.
Public HealthThis course aims to enhance students' concepts of public health, to understand the history of public health and the concepts of practice for disease prevention. Moreover, we also introduce prevention strategies about the epidemiology and infectious diseases, the development of health administrative organization and health care system as well as the importance of food safety and environmental health.
BiochemistryThis course is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding about basis of life phenomenon and interdependence in ecosystem, to serve as a cornerstone of learning professional courses in bioscience, to cultivate students’ basic skills about discussing biology, to equip students with ability of studying bioscience independently and to respect as well as care about lives.
BiostatisticsThis unit introduces the concepts and methodology of biostatistics. Students will learn to use a specific computer program used for statistical data analysis.
PhysiologyThis unit provides knowledge of how the body functions to maintain homeostasis and explores the physiological mechanisms of each body system. This knowledge is required as a foundation for nursing practice.
Physiology ExperimentPhysiology practice aims to develop skills in assessing the physiological activities of the body. These skills are fundamental activities for nurses.
Hospice NursingThis course is designed for nursing students, with a view to understanding the care of patients with cancer at the end of peace. Stressing the alleviation of pain and other discomfort and integrating physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of care, emphasizing the ethical issues of medical teamwork, grief counseling and end-of-life care in the course of the course, expecting students to recognize hospitals and communities for palliative care Features to identify nurses in the field of care to ease the role of function to provide clinical care knowledge, and thus can improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their families and achieve the end of the hospice.

Practice of Pediatric NursingThis internship is 120 hours in an obstetrics environment and it will take place over three weeks under the supervision of a clinical facilitator from the university. The aim of Obstetrics & Midwifery Internship is to allow the learners to integrate their knowledge and skills in the clinical environment.
Community Health NursingThis course integrates anatomic physiology, pathology, clinical check-ups, basic nursing skills and concepts of other courses to introduce community care services.
Practice of Community Health NursingThe course is mainly connected with anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, clinical examination, nutrition, basic nursing and basic nursing techniques, internal and external nursing and internal and external nursing techniques, supplemented by other curriculum concepts. Maternity NursingIn this unit you will learn gynecological health needs of women and the process of pregnancy from conception to birth. You will learn to identify and meet the health needs of pregnant women and the unborn baby, including women in the high risk category. You will develop skills to support the pregnant woman in the prenatal phase, during labor and postnatal period.

Gender IssuesThis course is to provide the students who graduated from the college of five years program or two years program a basic Psychiatric-Mental Health nursing knowledge and skill. Medical-Surgical Nursing(II)This unit focuses on further developing your nursing skills in the simulated clinical setting which will enable you to deliver care for patients with medical conditions and surgical patients in the pre-operative and post-operative phase.
Microbiology, Immunology and LaboratoryThis unit provides the theoretical underpinning knowledge and concepts of microbiology and immunology and their role with disease processes and reasons for alterations to health. You will learn to apply your clinical knowledge and appropriate clinical skills when delivering nursing care for clients with altered health status.
Practice of Medical-Surgical Nursing(I)This internship is 144 hours in a medical ward and 144 hours in surgical ward. It will take place over six weeks under the supervision of clinical facilitator from the university. The aim of medical-surgical internship is to integrate knowledge and skills in the clinical environment, apply critical thinking, assess health problems and provide appropriate nursing interventions. You will need to demonstrate commitment to team work, use effective communication skills and be able to work with multidisciplinary team.
Practice of Medical-Surgical Nursing(II)The unit focuses on the development of nursing skills in the simulated clinical setting on campus which will enable the nurses to deliver care for patients with medical conditions and surgical patients.
Professional English(I)Professional English (1) will be taught through listening/ speaking Nursing English, writing Nursing notes, and reading Doctor’s admission notes. Students will study Nursing English from given clinical scenarios. By listening and practicing situational dialogues, students will receive pronunciation and non-verbal communication reinforcement such as voice tone, body language and facial expressions. Based on provided clinical scenarios, students will also learn the medical words, tips of writing English Nursing notes, and how to read doctor’s notes. Students are required to read the given lesson’s admission notes/ scenarios prior class starts. Pop quizzes will be given randomly for words of a current lesson. Students will need a paper or electronic English dictionary and maintain a personal dictionary of new words/phases that they encounter through the lectures. In additional to required textbook, class materials are also available on the class homepage. A clinical role play is a bonus point to perform in the end of Semester.
Professional English(II)This course connects those medical terminologies learned from basic medical courses with medical and nursing conversations, in order to establish students’ abilities and skills of communicating with other medical-professional workers; in addition, students can learn the practical use of medical terminologies by practicing nursing conversations in a role-play style.
Overseas Clinical PlacementStudents and teacher will be visiting Sydney, Australia, to take part in a three-week internship at an aged care facility. The purpose of this internship is for the participants to learn how aged care is delivered generally in Australia. We will be particularly focusing on the following areas: Palliative care, medication management, work health and safety and infection control and so on. We can learn how the professional teams cooperate for the client.

The emphasis is placed on scientific nursing practice, basic human needs, and the care of clients with diverse needs. You will learn to incorporate related nursing science into your nursing practice. After the course, you will be able to appreciate the value of nursing and holistic care.
Oncology NursingThis course aims to vertically interconnect courses such as anatomy and physiology, pathology, fundamental nursing skills and concepts and medical-surgical nursing to build up a concept of care in oncology nursing.

Knowledge of these two areas is essential for all health professionals as it provides the basis for safety and efficacy when working with medication.
Pathology and ExperimentsThis unit introduces the mechanisms of biological and physical manifestation of disease as they correlate with underlying abnormalities. Understanding of pathophysiology is vital for all health professionals.
statistics softwareThis unit introduces the concepts and methodology of biostatistics. Students will learn to use a specific computer program used for statistical data analysis.
Integrative PracticeThis unit aims to integrate your knowledge and skills in delivering fundamental basic nursing care with general biomedical knowledge. Using the simulated clinical environment on campus you will be able to demonstrate your proficiency in performing various basic nursing procedures according to a clinical scenario.
